I was looking for a new
challenge and I began showing Cobra and Caloosa in AKC
Conformation Shows.
Since both Cobra and Caloosa are all natural it was much fun
to break through the barrier with a different look to
present here in America.
I was very excited about the reception from Judges and
Competitors as all were surprised to see all natural
entered.
Everyone's first thought was they were imported until they realized I entered Bred - By with Cobra who accomplished two points towards her AKC Championship.
I also entered both Cobra
and Caloosa in UKC Conformation Shows.
Cobra did complete her Championship with UKC.
Berlyn's Human Remains Detection Training is ongoing. Berlyn accomplished her certifications needed to be deployed.

Berlyn and I competed in AKC Obedience Open and accomplished CDX in three tries.
Then,
Everything
came to a crashing halt. Cobra stopped eating, lost 18
pounds in two weeks and was put to rest. She had the
misfortune of being host to Pithium.
Pythiosis outbreak hit several young dogs throughout
Florida.
Berlyn and I attended the annual DOCOF Invitational Dog Club Team Competition in Orlando, FL.
Berlyn, Caloosa and Allie went on a road trip with me to Massachusetts.
Allie was adopted by Joe Burns in Rhode Island. Joe just lost his German Shepherd and was looking for an adult dog. Allie and Joe connected and bonded the several weeks I was in Massachusetts.
While on the farm in Seekonk, Caloosa collapsed and blood tests indicated the level of Pithium in her body positive. I had vaccines shipped from Texas (PAVLAB) instantly and began treatment. I was reliving what Cobra had just gone through. I was determined to be more aggressive with combating this ugly disease. Along with the vaccine, I had much support from all other puppy owners sending me holistics such as Olive Leaf, Red Desert Clay, Neem, Oil of Oreganol (all to rid fungus from the body) along with many prayers. The Ultrasound showed Pithium throughout her body. I cancelled a Seminar I was to attend in Virginia in three weeks. The vet said she hated to sound mean but Caloosa didn't have three weeks to live. Maybe two weeks at best. Caloosa stopped eating. I began a grain free diet and force fed her at least 10 very small meals a day. Fortunately, she did not loose weight. She was very weak for several weeks. As time went by, two weeks, three weeks, four weeks, she regained her strength. I knew we were not out of the woods yet but decided to begin our road trip back to Florida. Along the way I continued to force feed her.
We spent several days in Connecticut visiting Doris and Cziva. Then we spent a week in New York enjoying the foliage.
In NY, we picked up a passenger, Aspen, a giant schnauzer pup we were bringing to her new owner in Lakeland, Florida.
Berlyn, Caloosa and Aspen joined me and headed to Keysville, VA for a HRD Seminar.

After a fantastic week of training, we headed to Lakeland, FL and Aspen met her new family.
Berlyn, Caloosa and I headed home to Cape Coral, FL for three days. Caloosa had a vet check and I did not have the o.k. to train her at the next Seminar. She still was not out of the woods.
We regrouped for three days and headed to Titusville, FL for a HRD Seminar.
The second Ultrasound showed almost all the Pithium gone except a spot near her lung. I am continuing with the holistics and grain free diet. About a week before Christmas Caloosa began eating on her own again.
Now 2010...
Caloosa is enrolled in Agility and Obedience Classes. She is also beginning Tracking and continued scent imprinting in HRD.
Berlyn is enrolled in Agility Classes. She is also continuing Tracking and HRD Training.
